Canterbury Cares As a former member of the HOA board, I thought it might be nice if we had a group of volunteers in the neighborhood who would be willing to help their neighbors in times of need, i.e. when people have a family emergency and can’t get to shoveling their walk, mowing their lawns, pick up their mail, etc. Keep in mind it doesn’t have to be a family emergency, maybe someone has had surgery and can’t get to the things they were able to get to. We had personal experience with a similar situation recently and it was
only with the help of our closest neighbors that we were able to keep our lawn looking nice and our house somewhat in order. I am willing to be the point person for this committee but thought I would write this article to see if there are others in the neighborhood who would like to help with this group or who might have suggestions on how to make it run smoothly. Our society has lost a bit of the “community” atmosphere this might be a way to get it back in our neighborhood. Please contact me if you are in need or can help at cares@hoacanterbury.com |
